And that’s exactly what I have done: I’ve prepared myself, did everything I could and the opportunities came. Imagine having by your side a specialist who really knows what recruiters are looking for. With several years of experience hiring talents in all hierarchical levels, screening thousands of CVs and selecting candidates in three languages, I know the ins and outs of recruitment as only few people do.
If you wish to conquer a job in Europe with strategy and confidence, I’m here to transform your work experience in a competitive advantage.
I have always had a great fascination for other cultures, but imagine: at home, nobody spoke any language other than Portuguese, and we already were quite happy to go to the beach that was a two-hour drive from home. Everything related to other countries was generally something we only heard on the radio or saw on TV.
Nevertheless, the world beyond Brazil always seemed like a great adventure. There was something fascinating about the idea of countries much older than mine or with the fact that the same thing could be said in completely different ways, with other words and sounds. As time passed, this interest became a desire not only to explore the world, but to live abroad.
At the age of fourteen, I understood that I needed to create a plan because, if everything stayed the same, this dream would never be more than something distant in mind.
So, in the same year, I started to act to conquer what I wanted:
I got a part-time job at a local TV channel aiming to get experience so that I could become an international correspondent in the future (one of the main jobs I knew that would allow me to work abroad) and to save some money to learn languages and study abroad. At that time, I earned the equivalent of around 100 euros per month.
I need to laugh when I think about just how direct I was. My salary wasn’t enough to pay for German lessons, but Germany seemed to be the best cost-benefit to study abroad. So, I have made a plan and presented it to the director of the Goethe-Institut in my city. She gaveme a scholarship that allowed me to pay for my German lessons. The fact that some people said I would never learn German motivated me even more.
Teenagers tend to want to sneak out of home. In my case, I knew that an exchange program was impossible, so I tried to live it where I was. When I found out that university exchange students met at this alternative bar in my city, I found a way to go there and became one of the most frequent guests. Being in close touch with so many cultures shaped me to be who I am today.
As you can notice, I was doing everything I could to turn the odds in my favor. To a certain degree, I was already living this dream right there in my city, as I immersed myself in this multicultural environment. However, soon came the realization that regardless of how much I saved, I wouldn’t have the means to fulfill my dream of studying abroad. This made me change my mindset. I had no control over my financial situation. There’s only so much you can earn in your teenage years and that was not, by any means, the necessary amount to study abroad. As a result, I have focused on what I could change: becoming more employable not for the local market, but being as competitive as possible for the market abroad.
My greatest goal was finding the solution for the questions above and concrete ways to achieve my dream. For that, I intensified the work I had begun years before at the age of fourteen. Everyday I would inform myself about the job market, visa requirements and how to succeed in recruitment processes. I followed both immigrants and locals that talked about careers and throughout the years I could exchange with hundreds of experts in the field.
As I least expected I became an expert.More than 10 years of professional experience in organizations in Brazil and Germany. Out of those, 7 years have been in the Human Resources area in both countries. In 2019, I was selected in one of Germany’s most competitive recruitment processes, with hundreds of candidates for each position and an assessment center. In recent years, I have screened thousands of CVs and conducted hundreds of interviews and assessment centers with people from various nationalities for positions in Germany.
An essential part of my plan to achieve an international career was formal education. I have studied a double-degree in International Business and Business Administration between the FAE Business School in Brazil and the Fachhochschule Münster in Germany. As a tech recruiter, I wanted to learn more about the IT market and have finished an MBA in Digital Business Management in Germany.
My interest in other cultures resulted in me speaking five different languages. In addition to Portuguese - my native language - I also speak German and English to an almost native level and can also get by with Spanish and French.
The boy who once wondered if he would ever have the chance to travel abroad has since visited more than 20 countries on three continents.
The reason why I like to share my transformation, from the Brazilian boy who had a dream to the man who lives that dream, is to show my passion.
I’m happy with what I have accomplished, but now I want to help others reach their dream careers. It doesn’t matter if you come from another country or if you’re a local. I want you to know that I help my clients reach their goals with the same passion and motivation with which I have achieved mine.
Moreover, you can have the peace of mind of having someone highly qualified and experienced by your side. Throughout the years, I have hired hundreds of professionals in all hierarchies, I have screened thousands of CVs, and I have conducted countless interviews and assessment centers in three languages. I know the intricacies of recruitment processes.
